The Globe Ireland

The Lichen_ART project

During the Lichen_ART project in 2021, I had the great opportunity to collaborate with The Globe Ireland on a citizen science project aimed at primary schools. Together with Chloe Brenan, we invited the pupils to discover the fascinating world of lichens around their schools or homes and create a poem describing the attractive nature of the symbiotic organisms. The pictures of lichens and poems were merged into beautiful collages and displayed.

The Tree Observation

I had the pleasure to provide the Tree webinar for the Globe Tree Observation Campaign, during Tree Week of March 2022.  I touched on native Irish trees and how to recognise trees by looking at winter buds. I also provided tips and activity suggestions for engaging students in spring tree observation.

The Summer Teacher Training

During the Summer Environmental Teacher Training in August 2022  that took place in Herbert Park, Dublin 4, I had the opportunity to talk about the research on nature connection in adolescence and the methods of creating interactive, multisensory outdoor activity for students.
