Celebrate autumn with a guided morning hike through the beautiful Glen of the Downs, one of Wicklow’s most treasured native woodlands. As the forest shifts into its autumn colours, we’ll explore this ancient valley and discover the seasonal changes happening all around us. We’ll learn to identify native trees by their leaves, bark and shape, look for autumn fruits and seeds, and explore the wonderful world of woodland fungi and mushrooms. 🍄🍁 As we follow the woodland trails, we’ll discover how trees, fungi and other species are connected and the important roles they play within this rich ecosystem. We’ll also uncover the fascinating geological story of how this dramatic valley was formed and how the surrounding landscape continues to shape the Glen today. A lovely opportunity to spend a morning outdoors, learn something new and experience the woodland at one of the most beautiful times of the year. Meet Your Guides: Kamila – Botanist, certified forest bathing guide & lowland leader Anthea from Nature Tales & Trails – Geologist, writer & mountain leader Together, they bring botany and geology to life - connecting plants, place, and deep time through engaging insights and gentle sensory awareness.
