Forest of Memories Nature Walk - May 16
Join our guided walk through the forest, where memories, nature, and gentle presence meet.
Service Description
Join me for a relaxed and meaningful 5.5 km spring walk through one of Ireland’s most beautiful native woodlands - the magical Vale of Clara. This walk is especially close to my heart, as it is held in memory of my beloved dog, whom I lost to cancer. It is a gentle way to honour the loyal companions who walked beside us, filled our days with joy, and left paw prints on our hearts. As we wander along ancient forest paths, you’ll learn how to recognise native trees such as oak, birch, and holly through their flowers, leaves, bark, and form - and discover the important role they play in Ireland’s ecology, folklore, and culture. Guided by Dr. Kamila Kwasniewska - botanist, experienced hiking leader, and devoted dog lover - this walk is an invitation to slow down and truly experience the forest. Along the way, we may spot red squirrels, hear the rhythmic drumming of woodpeckers, or glimpse red kites soaring above the canopy. This is a space for remembrance, connection, and gratitude - for nature, for companionship, and for the simple joy of walking together. 🐾 Family-friendly 🐕 Dog-friendly (on lead) 🥾 Suitable for all levels ⏳ Approx. 2 hours 🕙 Start at 10 am 💶 €12.50 per person All proceeds from this walk will be donated to Ash Animal Rescue, Co. Wicklow, supporting animals still waiting for their forever homes. After booking, you’ll receive an email with meeting point directions and helpful preparation tips.
