Service Description
Celebrate National Tree Week 2026 with a fresh and uplifting springtime adventure! 🌱🌳 Join us for a relaxed yet fascinating 5.5 km guided walk through one of Ireland’s most beautiful native woodlands – the enchanting Vale of Clara. As spring brings the forest to life, you’ll learn how to identify native trees such as oak, birch and holly by their young leaves, bark and shape, while discovering the vital roles they play in ecology, folklore and Irish culture. Led by Dr. Kamila Kwasniewska, botanist and experienced hiking guide, this immersive walk is a wonderful chance to slow down, enjoy birdsong and blossom, and experience the woodland awakening after winter. Along the way, you may spot red squirrels, hear woodpeckers at work, or even see red kites soaring above the treetops. Reviews from previous participants: "We had such a fantastic experience on our Guided Tree walk with Kamila this morning in the magical Clara Vale Forest. What a privilege it was to accompany Kamila through the woodlands as she generously shared her knowledge of Ireland's native trees and their inhabitants. I have a newfound respect for, and interest in lichen! I feel grounded and nourished after this wonderful experience. I recommend 1000%!" - Ashley M.
