Tonelagee

Service Description

Join us on Saturday 14th February for a spectacular mountain adventure that celebrates nature, landscape, and discovery at one of Wicklow’s most iconic trails. This guided hike takes you to Tonelagee, rising to 817 m in the central Wicklow Mountains, and the stunning Lough Ouler - a natural heart-shaped corrie lake hidden high on the slopes. We’ll walk at a steady, enjoyable pace, exploring the upland landscape as we go. Along the route, we’ll look at how ancient glaciers carved the mountains and lakes, how peatlands form and function in the high bogs, and what the land can tell us about its history. Expect plenty of opportunities to stop, take in the views, and connect with the wild surroundings. Our approach is friendly, relaxed, and engaging - perfect if you love being outdoors and want to learn a little more about the natural world without feeling overwhelmed. Whether you’re curious about geology, ecology, or just after a great day out with like-minded people, this hike offers something for everyone. 📍 Tonalagee & Lough Ouler, Wicklow Mountains 📅 Saturday 14th February at 10: 00am 🥾 Moderate mountain hike (suitable for those comfortable with uneven ground and steady climbs) You’ll receive details on the meeting point and preparation tips after booking.
