Slow-Paced Nature Hike - September 27th
No Rush Hike – Enjoy the Journey, Not Just the Destination
Service Description
This is a slow-paced hike along one of Wicklow's lesser-known trails, through woodland and open hillside, with wide ranging views over the Wicklow mountains, from Glendalough, to Lugnaquilla, to the Sugarloaf, to the sea. September is a wonderful time to be out in the hills, with mild temperatures, quiet trails, and the pink colours of heather mixing with early autumn golden hues. Guided by Anthea (Nature Tales & Trails), geologist, writer and mountain leader, and Kamila (Nature to Go), botanist, forest bathing guide and lowland leader, this is a hike for anyone wishing to get outdoors on the trails without feeling rushed. Feel fully supported as we will take in forest, slopes and summit of Trooperstown Hill, and learn about nature and landscape along the way. No hiking experience necessary, just the ability to walk for 8 km with 300m of ascent, at your own pace. This is a collaboration between Nature Tales & Trails and Nature to Go! What to Expect: 🌿 Seasonal flowers and plants: discover woodland plants and upland wildflowers, including heather, bilberry, and milkwort 🌳 Native tree knowledge: learn to recognise and understand Ireland’s woodland species ⛰️ Landscape stories about how the Wicklow hills formed over millions of years 👣 Slow exploration with plenty of time to notice and connect with nature Details: Date: 27 September Time: 10am Duration: around 3 or 4 hours depending on the group's pace Difficulty: Easy to moderate Cost: €20 for one person, and €35 for two What people are saying about our events: “A truly wonderful experience.
