Service Description

Relax and unwind in nature during the Summer Mindful Hike and discover the new energy in Nature and yourself! This guided session will invite you to let go and embrace nature through your senses. Forest bathing, a calm and largely silent practice, is designed to help you relax and restore your inner peace. Through a guided session in the forest, we will invite you to pay attention to your senses and notice nature from a new perspective. During this walk we will hike to the top of Derryawn Mountain (476m), and be treated to gorgeous views over Glendalough and surrounding peaks. This practice, led by Kamila, a botanist, forest bathing guide and lowland leader, and Anthea from Nature Tales & Trails, a geologist and mountain leader, will be accompanied by a slow, mindful hike in nature, where we will notice flora, fauna and geology! This hike is moderate/medium grade (steep in parts). Please make sure you wear ankle support/walking boots. Duration: about 4-5 hours (depending on the weather and group dynamics) This is a fully outdoor activity. You will receive an email with details on what to bring with you. We start our session at the free car park at Derrybawn beside the Woollen Mills and GAA grounds in Laragh village. Previous hike participant's reviews: “We had a wonderful hike today with Kamila and Anthea, on a less trodden path from Laragh to Glendalough. What a great way to spend a Sunday morning. A workout for your heart and soul.”— David D. - August 2023 "A wonderful mindful walk today in Derrybawn and on into Glendalough.
